Do All Religions Lead to God?
Sunday, 27 September 2009
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims
Description:
In our culture, the answer to this question is a resounding yes. However, upon closer inspection we find that the evidence indicates otherwise. In this message, we explore the core beliefs of the four largest world religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam. Upon examining their beliefs, one discovers that they fundamentally contradict one another. Therefore, to say that all religions lead to God is illogical. Also, such a claim is arrogant to the unique claims of each religion.
The Return of Christ
Sunday, 20 September 2009
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims | 1 John 2:28-3:3, Psalms 97:7, Psalms 6:10, Romans 8:14
Description:
The return of Christ is the great hope of Christians as the culmination of redemptive history. Consequently, believers should live their lives in light of it. We are to abide in Christ so that we will be confident when he appears. Also, as wonderful as it is to be a child of God now, at Christ's return we will become like Christ.
Overcoming Antichrist Part 2
Sunday, 13 September 2009
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims | 1John 2:18-27, Jer 31:31-34, Ezek 36:26-27
Description:
We learn of a third reason of encouragement that believers can overcome antichrists: the abiding, enlightening presence of the Holy Spirit. All believers under the New Covenant possess the indwelling Holy Spirit-what John calls "the anointing." Also, all belivers posses the knowledge of the Lord directly, unlike under the Old Covenant where people depended upon medicators like prophets and priest. The "anointing" helps lead us away form the deception of antichrists.

Pastor Bryan Sims | 1 John 2:18-27, Acts 2:17, 1 Peter 4:7, 2 Timothy 3:1

Christians have always maintained a strong interest in the antichrist. In our passage, we have memtioned both the antichrist and antichrists. Who are these antichrists? Of all the attributes of God, perhaps no other attribite depicts the essence of God like his holiness. 1 John Do Not Love the World Part 2
Sunday, 23 August 2009
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims | Proverbs 4:23, Romans 12:2, Philppians 4:8
Description:
Worldiness is a great challenge to Christians, perhaps more so in modern culture than ever before. This message offers three important principles to help them be "in the world but not of the world." Do Not Love The World
Sunday, 16 August 2009
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims | 1 John 2:15-17, John 17:5, John 15:18-19

In Christian circles, we often hear "the world' or "worldliness." What exactly does this mean? In 1 John 2:15-17, we read perhaps the definitive passage about "the world." In todays passage, we explore the meaning of the phase "the world," and its danger to or love for God.
Identity In Christ
Sunday, 09 August 2009
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims | 1 John 2:12,Phil. Chapter 3
Description:
Thus far in 1 John, the apostle has sought to draw careful distinctions between genuine believers and the false teachers disrupting the church. Now, he turns his attention exclusively to the believers to give a strong word of assurance about their identity in Christ. Also, John offers specific encouragement to mature and younger Christians alike.
The New Commandment
Sunday, 02 August 2009
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims | 1John 2
Description:
In 1 John 2, the apostle relates how the commandment "love your neighbor as yourself" is both old and new. It is old in the sense that this command was given 1500 years before in the Old Testament. It is new in that Jesus tells us to love each other as he has loved us. In a real sense, Jesus fulfills and elevates the command, especially through his service and sacrifice. We are to follow him. As John relates, our response to Jesus' new command is another indicator of whether we genuinely know Christ as Savior and Lord.
