Satan Part 1
Sunday, 04 July 2010
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims
Series:
Angels and Demons
Description:
Satan is opposed to God and seeks to rob him of his glory. There is perhaps no greater way of opposing God than to attack the gospel, God's plan of salvation. Satan does this in three ways, one of which is to distort the truth of the gospel, thereby leading people away from salvation. Scripture teaches that Satan stands behind false belief system, cults and world religions alike.

Angels protect us from harm as well as escort us to heaven.

Angels and Demons
Description:
Today, we explore the activity of angels - what is it that angels do? First and foremost, God made angels to worship him and there is much we can learn from them. Also, angles are messangers of God - they delivered the old Testament law and important messages related to God's plan of salvation, especially with the birth and resurrection of Christ. Interestingly, angels are remarkably absent during the ministry of Christ. We will ecplore why.

What is the Gospel? Part 2
Sunday, 30 May 2010
Speaker Name:
Pastor Bryan Sims
Description:
Last week, we closed with the bad news, namely that all of humanity stands before a holy and just God. However, the bad news sets the stage for the good news to make sense and be so compelling. The good news is that Jesus is the Son of God who came to be our Savior. His death on the cross was the perfect sacrifice that satisfies God's justice and makes it possible to experience peace with God and eternal life. How do we respond? Repentance and faith. Repentance is a decisive turning away from sin to obeying God. Faith is trusting in Christ to forgive our sin because of who he is and what he did on the cross.

Nothing is more important than the gospel. It is the very foundation of Christianity and how a person becomes a Christian! What is the gospel?
